Important Improvements to Gear Hire

Dear members,

Due to high number of dive trips and courses running in parallel we need to more strictly ensure gear availability.

Therefore, the following procedures are introduced, taking effect immediately:

1. Any gear hired from the club needs to be recorded via the online gear hire form (accessible from TeamApp or through this link https://goo.gl/forms/2mx9BeKivPpYrRnX2 by the person hiring the equipment.
Any word-of-mouth or other type of record (eg. paper) is not eligible.

2. Gear hire should be organised on Thursday meetings for the week to follow only (ie. no two weeks in advance hire); dates when the gear will be used are to be provided in the form to ensure that the specified gear will be available on that day.

3. Instructors have priority to reserve gear for a course (through the same form) by filling the hire form before Thursday meeting or by contacting the committee.

4. Any gear hire recorded after Thursday night will be rendered ‘not reserved’ and will not be guaranteed to be free in any way, although it will still be available for hire if nobody else takes it on the day.

Please contact the committee in events where you can’t make it to a meeting because of unforeseen circumstances but still require gear hire.

I hope that this will make diving operations more enjoyable and smoother for all of us.
